Acrylics and ink on recycled/up-cycled canvas. Otis is my favorite soul singer. He sang the blues while I painted the blues. I’ve never limited my color palette to 3-4 colors, the kids convinced me that this one looked "done" way before I was ready. I trusted them and thought, if it needs more I can go back before the paint dries once the kids are in bed. To my surprise, Otis and the blues didn’t need anything else from me. Painting began and ended with " these arms of mine" on the record player. If you get a chance to stop by the Otis Redding museum in Macon, Georgia, I encourage you to do so. Your soul will thank me later.
