Meet Heddy

Heddy Mullins Podnar is a painter and illustrator, a consummate doodler, who enjoys everything from the conspicuous to the mundane…there is always a trace, a glimmer, of beauty to unveil, right?

She works with acrylics, watercolor, and ink to create pieces that invoke her deep love of nature and the human spirit. You can find her most afternoons, outside sketching trees, blending vibrant pigments and painting lopsided circles on everything.

Whether you are looking for a unique, soulful piece of original art that catches your eye or simply needing someone to bring a brewing idea to life via a customized order, Heddy would be honored to assist you.

A decade ago while brainstorming ways to raise money for CASA of Georgia, a child welfare program that she volunteers with, Heddy stumbled upon some acrylic paints up for grabs at a garage sale.

It was an “attempt the art, or bake the cookies” dilemma, that we can all agree panned out for the best.

To her delight, her creations raised an ample amount of money at the non-profits auction.

Her adoration for the process gave her the confidence to turn passion into purpose, and Pink Moonshine Studio was created in January of 2009. Heddy began selling her art in local shops, on FB and through an Etsy site.

Heddy is a proud Kentucky momma currently residing in Bay Co., FL. She wrangles her 3 shining stars (aged 8, 11 and 13), under the shade of Florida’s swamp oaks. They are owned by 3 fat cats, 1 foster kitten (who is she kidding, the little Siamese wonder isn’t going anywhere) a hound dog, a rescue slug and a yard full of respected species and creatures.

She earned a BA in Law Enforcement/Criminal Justice from Eastern Kentucky University and is a former cop, corrections officer, truck stop waitress and veterinary assistant. She volunteers with animal rescues, practices the TNR of local street cats, and serves as an animal foster mom and adoption coordinator when needed.

Heddy has sold over 763 pieces of art, mostly acrylic paintings, and has raised awareness for the charities closest to her heart.

At least 10% of each piece sold will be gifted to child welfare agencies, animal advocacy and rescues and melanoma research organizations.

“Art isn't something frilly, luxurious or extra. It's vital. It's a deep full intake of breath for society's ills, a slow full outbreath for our joys and truths.”
- Waylon Lewis
